The second game we finally turned it on a little bit knowing we could full well beat this team ‘the underdawgs’. The team batted 14 for 35 and drove in 11 runs .. just one run short of beating the other team who scored 12. We had a strong end of the game batting and our fielding was still pretty good.

We are going to play this team again on the 15th and I promise to win either one or both of those games because we ARE a better team then they are.

Our next game is August 3rd @ 9:15 on Cantiague A. If you cannot make the game please call me because we are short both charlie and bojo for basically the rest of the season.

Let’s look forward to our next game Tuesday June 13th @ 8:15pm, in Newbridge Road 1 vs. RC Dugans a team we owe a ass whooping since they knocked us out of the playoffs last year.

Now I can say with confidence and no fuckin jinx’in myself that the Dirty Dalerz Softball team could actually win the Division we are in and make a decent run for the playoffs. We are down to our last 3 games of the season all of which are going to mean something in order to make the playoffs or actually win the division.

The first game we have coming up is against the third place team in our division ‘JayHawks’ which our current series record with them is 3-1. Out of those 4 games I believe we mercy ruled them twice. Don’t get me wrong they are a good team it’s just USUALLY our first game against opponents we beat them down and the second game is moderately close. Now the Jay Hawks for some wierd reason have 10 games AFTER playing us tonight, that they still have to play. They will most likely (knock on wood) lose a game or two which will secure us a spot in second place or possibly first. The game tonight is huge, two more wins would be great to go into playing Pier One (mind you they beat the first place team, something we couldn’t do) at the record of 22-4. The last thing I want to do is get ahead of myself and start thinking past our current situation but I do have say the skies have cleared up a little bit on the ‘chances’ of playoffs.

Now, the first place team the dreaded ‘Undertakers’ (again the first team to hand us two losses in a row) still have 3 games left on the season as do we, AND one of those double headers is against us. From what I can make of the WescoSports website they have 3 loses .. now if we can hand them two loses that would be great and then on top of that finish the rest of the season without a loss would LOCK us in for first place. This again is wishful thinking so to say, we just need to bring our A game to every game till the end of the season. Problem with that .. is we are losing two players, possibly three already for the rest of the season after tonights game. John and Heller both to football camp at cwpost, and sir Robert of Bojo to the NYPD academy. John, a great guy to have on the three hole and a great first baseman, Heller, a fuckin gazelle on the basepaths and both the outfield and Sir Bojo who just fills in the spot at 2nd (jk) and has been doing great hittin’ and speeding around the basepaths will be major loses for a very talented team. Don’t get me wrong we have a great supporting cast behind us while these three are gone but we got to this point with them you can only hope to keep the spirit going.

Still with all this talk of ‘The Undertakers’ and ‘Jay Hawks’ were forgetting about a team ‘Pier One Steerage’ who handed the Undertakers a loss and is basically playing the upset maker with hopes of squeeking into the playoffs, it is easy to underestimate your opponent. With the record of 20-4 its kind of hard not to think every game is just a pair of wins .. but the mentality has to change for the rest of the season to ‘survival mode’ .. meaning we have to go into every game thinking if we lose .. we lose it all, which could hold true.

With that said .. Lets go out and get em’ Ma Dirtys … I’m ready to go into battle .. Who’s with me !

We got handed our first double loss. This whole season we have gone without loseing two games in a row .. let alone loseing to the same team twice up until this past Saturday. We played the first place team who’s record was 15-1 and now 17-1 after our two games. We have dropped back to 18-4 which lands us in third place in the standings and unsure if we are going to make playoffs. We have 3 more double headers left to decide our fate of the season. One more game against the first place Undertakers and one more game against the second place Jay Hawks .. both MUST WIN games for us. Over the next three weeks are our games and seriously there going to be the longest 3 weeks ever. Constant checking of the standings and results of the top two teams in the league. It’s really upsetting to now have to tight-rope walk our way into the playoffs since we have dominated every team we played, exception Undertakers.

Well time for me to talk about the game. Before anything got started I took a physical inventory of the Undertakers .. most of them seem’d to be in there 30′s and physically fit .. so right off the bat I knew they weren’t going to lay down and let us take two games away from them. I believe we got to bat first and only 4 batters stepped up by the end of the inning .. and produced nothing. They got up .. first guy hits a home run in the gap. That set the tempo for them. Hardly no mistakes feilding on either team .. but they edged us out in the top of the 7th to win game one.

The second game was just as close. We were leading going into the top of the 7th with them at bat. The lead off hitter for there team had 2 people on base and they were down 1 with 1 out. Guess what .. he hits a home run in the gap in center feild to put them up by 2. After that another batter got a hit driving in another guy, so they were up by 3 going into the bottom of the 7th with the middle of our order due up. First guy gets up and pops out .. second guy gets up and is another out .. then heller and anthony get on due to great clutch hits to bring up Ryan. Ryan gets up and has been hitting good all season with me due up next. Ryan takes pitch one .. strike .. the next pitch .. pop out to short and game over. Two loses chalked up for the Dirty Dalerz.

The loses we had earlier in the season are coming back to bite us in the asses big time now. Possibly taking ourselves right out of the playoffs. I’m coming with a different approach .. I really think we can win every game from here on in .. we played to many weak teams then come up to the hard teams only to not be in a competative mentallity .. now that we have a tuff end of the season the bar gets raised and we have our eye on the prize so YES, I do think its possible to make the playoffs .. Undertakers .. you might of taken 2 from us .. but don’t worry .. you’ll get yours BRUUUUUCE !!

I’m not speaking for everyone here .. but .. I’m a lil anxious about tomorrow. Were playing the second place team in our league basically for first place. We play them twice, which is basically like the Yankees end of there season when they play the Red Sox for the last 3 games of there season which is basically going to decide wether or not we get first place. Going into this Game we know nothing about them .. we don’t know if they blew every team out they played or they have just be skateing by .. last game put us up a notch in confidence .. hopefully we can carry it over to this next game .. We will.
