Demarini Softball Bats – Will Stick With Them Forever

Thursday, 14 May 2009

I very rarely talk about companies that I will stick to because there so amazing all around that I’ll always bring my business to them. Rarely now a days it’s hard to find a great product, at a great price, and have amazing customer service. I don’t know if that is asking a lot but that is what I look for when you want my customer loyalty. After a while I lost hope looking out for companies that had that all around qualities. Until I had bought my first Softball Bat from Demarini.

This bat pictured is my second bat from Demarini which is the 2009 Demarini White Steel and will get to the story involving that purchase and history in a second. My first bat was purchased for $190 named the 2008 Demarini White Steel. It was the first year this bat was in production and I took a big gamble on buying a bat that wasn’t a proven monster. It looked really attractive and was mysterious in its looks and feel. It felt somewhat balanced in weight but end loaded, which is difficult to find in a two piece bat. Two piece meaning the barrel and the handle are manufactured separately then put together for the final product. Every time you hold it in your hands you feel so comfortable that it meets all your needs to put the ball where you need to put it and drive it with power.

The gamble paid off and since the purchase everyone who has hit with the bat and myself have become a believer in the Demarini White Steel and its all around versatility to all hitters of power AND contact. They say its not the bat .. its the hitter, but when your confident you have the best piece of equipment to get the job done in your hands it only builds your confidence in yourself to produce the needed outcome whether it be a home run or a single up the middle. I have won 3 championships and been in a total of 4 Championship series where all those teams utilized the bat as a majority. That is a lot of swings for one bat, in which most bats start to break down after about 500 hits thereafter. This bat has put up well over 500 hits and still hits pretty well. Only after 2 years of straight up knocking the stuffing out of the ball has it blurred the graphics on the bat, been re-gripped and has one VERY MINOR chip in the paint job. Most people will tell you that is un-heard of with a bat. This only solidifies my trust in Demarini for future bat purchases, in which in October 2008 I purchased the 2009 model of the White Steel.

The price for the 2009 White Steel was basically the same amount as 2008 model but with a different paint job to make the barrel look as if it was truly steel. Another minor change in detail was now the handle is white with a graphite look at certain parts. Automatically it started hitting like its predecessor, and the pure giddiness to step up to the plate and take some swings with it came out in everyone who handled it. I used the bat for a Fall league from October to early November. The weather never really dipped below 60 degrees during use but at the end of the season I noticed a small dent starting to form when I hand checked the barrel. You could not distinguish a dent visually but you could feel it somewhat in your hands. That is when I called Demarini’s customer service to notify them of my issue.

Upon calling them I explained my story and immediately they told me to send the bat in for a replacement. I was surprised that I didn’t have to jump through hoops to get my problem fixed. The customer service gave me a reference number and told me to ship the bat to there address with the receipt and all would be taken care of. The bat was shipped then received by them within about 3-4 days, when in turn they sent a replacement brand new bat to me same model and weight in a very timely manner. The bat arrived at my doorstep via UPS no more then two weeks after I had initially sent my bat to them. That is amazing turn around time to me for a company that resides in Oregon. Tonight we finally get to put the bat back to work again along side the 2007 model and I am confident it will live up to the companies name and quality they provide.

It sounds like this is a paid review from Demarini but I assure you there has been no money exchanged and no favors done other then living up to there end of there One Year replacement policy if anything goes wrong with the bat. This is stuff you don’t see from many companies of ANYTHING now a days. With how everything took place it warrented a write up on the site with backing and approval from the Dirty Dalerz softball team and all other teams I play on as well as myself. Demarini I thank you for your outstanding products and customer service. I recommend Demarini for your softball bat needs. You can find amazing prices at closeoutbats.com where I purchase all of my Demarini bats and products with quick shipping and service as well.

McDonalds Way To Go Finally

Tuesday, 29 Jul 2008
I’m not a big fast food eater at all. The only fast food you can catch me eating is Taco Bell and maybe Once every few months i’ll have a burger from Burger King because I’m a burger guy. You will most definitely not catch me at McDonalds. I eat very healthy and am proud of it. Now Mr. Ronald McDonald you have finally caught my eye. I walked past a sign that said 2 for $3 Southern Style Chicken Biscuit. I totally ignored it at first until I saw it at a closer view.
McDonalds Chicken Biscuit

Look at the Biscuit it is on! It looks like McDonalds went to Pillsbury Grands and said .. “OK, dough boy gimme your best biscuit and we can all make money here”. With this said it still took another 3-4 times passing it for me to finally break down. I think it was because I was strapped for cash one day and this just seemed like a good idea. I fell for your ploy Ronald, you win. I walked in .. 9 a.m. the place was packed but I just kept staring at the sign ahead of me and rubbing my stomach. I finally get up to the front and place my order. Less then 3 minutes later I got my sack of two Southern Style Chicken Biscuit’s. I bring it up to my desk at work and setup. Drink. Check. Napkins. Check. No Interruptions. CHECK! I was ready to indulge. This was it .. the best thing I have EVER and I mean EVER tasted from any fast food place in my lifetime. My mouth went into an Orgasmic shock. My mouth just wanted it to stay in my mouth and never travel anywhere else ever again. Finally my throat grabbed a hold of the food and hugged it .. all the way down .. never wanting to let go until my stomach got the last laugh. The whole time I have this look of shock in my eyes as I just ingested one of the best things I have ever tasted in my life. McDonalds, I never really liked you in my honest opinion. Your food was full of bad fats and very bad cholesterol. But with this invention of the Southern Style Chicken Biscuit, all your wrong doings are wiped away. I’m not going to start eating all your other foods but you will definitely be receiving at most ONCE a week $3. I applaud you Ronald. You did good kid .. you did good. Get out there and get one .. you’ll see.

Two Cd’s you have to check out!

Friday, 9 Jun 2006

Recently I was looking to purchase two new albums and went searching around for new good artists. My taste in music is not bad at all .. I like amazing beats, complex lyrics with a message and of course some kick ass guitar playing. I found two great new cd’s that anybody should give a listen to. The first artist is Gnarls Barkley consisting of Cee lo who is a rapper/producer (not rapping on this cd though) and everyone knows him because his daugther flew into her party on “Super Sweet 16″ in a helicopter, the other artist of this group is Danger Mouse who remixed the “grey album” which was amazing with Jay-z rapping over the beatles “white album”. Both of these artists who have different styles collabo’d for this album “St. Elsewhere“. If I where to compare them to any artist I would have to say Outkast for there style. They start out the cd with a fast pace in your face track “Go-Go Gadget Gospel” then lead into there first debut single “Crazy” which has such a foot tapping tempo and great lyrics, Cee lo’s voice surprised me he has a very vintage tone and can definitely hold a note. Then go to the track “Gone Daddy Gone” which has possibly the sickest beat on the album, which i think he took from the SNL sketch which is one of my favorites of Fallon and Morgan singing and dancing “christmas time is here”. Finally my favorite track on the album maybe becuase it is so dark is “Necromancer” which of course talks about necrofilia but the way he rides the beat with his story is amazing. Check out this cd, or pick it up for a measly $10 on iTunes which I did. The next cd is Angels & AirwavesWe Don’t Need to Whisper“. The Front man Tom Delonge (Guitar/Vocals) is from a lil known band called Blink-182 just so you know. This album is nothing close to the punky/pop style of Blink-182 but is actually more like a not-so-depressed Taking Back Sunday. Now i wasn’t to happy with his other side project Boxcar Racer, but now he re-tooled his band and is now with new people with a new sound more music less lyrically complex but the beats/guitar riffs melt any face off. There single “The Adventure” which is Track 4 for those of you playing along at home, starts off with great guitar playing and smooth beats for about a minute then leading into the lyrics. Nowadays everyone wants to get to the lyrics so quickly .. A&A took a old school page and open up mostly every song on this cd with a ‘setup’ so to say into the song with great content in the begining following through till the end. My favorite track on the album is “Distraction“, I don’t know if its just me but im feeling more piano playing lately in my music .. it just jumps out more, the lyrics on this track is great too. Again just fire up iTunes and purchase this album for $10. Both These albums come with an Interactive album when you purchase them from iTunes which is actually pretty cool. You can pull up the lyrics to the song and see pictures from the albums artwork. For $10 you can go wrong and it’s great sound quality for your iPod at 128kps. I reccomend both albums for anyone who just likes giving any music a chance. Also, Dirty Dalerz Softball section might be down for a few days due to me re-vamping the site for the new season. The first game is next Tuesday at 9:15 Catiague Field A, so come down and show some support.

Get this.

Saturday, 30 Jul 2005
daneWell I picked up the new Dane Cook cd/dvd at F.Y.E. last night finally after 3 different places that I went to were sold out of it. First, F.Y.E. is a store that jacks up prices beyond belief and I never shop at but had the cd so I had to swallow the pride walk in there and pay an extra two dollars for it (best buy had it cheaper but out of stock). I wasn’t happy but .. I got a free poster out of it. Of course once I get out of there I pop in the cd and start listening .. and LAUGHING my fuckin’ balls off in the middle of Hempstead Tpke. If you thought Dane’s Last cd “harmful if swallowed” was good you have another thing coming. This is a three disk set of laugh your ass off comedy that so many people can relate to his situations. Seriously, what is one thing men want more then sex .. like what is there fantasy … to be apart of a HEIST .. how true is that! While having two cd’s of his routine labeled ‘Want’ and ‘Need’ you get a third cd labeled ‘Have’ which is basically a dvd of comedy sketch’s he done which again are amazing. They range from Crank Yanker appearances to Shorties watching Shorties appearances and even specials hosted by him which are equally halarious. Dane scored big like I knew he would with me .. Dane thanks for the laughing ORGASM .. now you knuckle heads pick up his cd @ best buy for $11 which is well worth it! Next on the list of shit I bought yesterday is the First Season of the hit British show “The Office”. This show is the movie “Office Space” times 10 and with british accents. If you can get past the accents then your ok .. if you can’t then just wait till August 18th when ABC premires its second installment of the U.S. version of ‘The Office’theoffice which stars Steve Carell (Brick Tamland from ‘Anchorman’) who is one of the funniest guys out there next to Will Farrell. Back to the British version, now the accents go along with the comedy pretty well .. I thought at first I was going to hate it because of it but nah it actually didn’t bother me at all .. just some slang british words like “bloak” meaning guy/man which took a lil’ while to get used to. It takes place at a company that sells paper that is having like a mock documentary made up about them which is a really smart angle to come at I believe and they pull it off beautifully. If you have ever worked an office job then you definitly can relate to the type of jokes in this show. Stuff like meaningless Training Classes at work from staff meetings to small office chit chat that bothers you and office relationships and how fucked up they are. This may not be for everyone but if you have the same taste in comedy like me (most of you do since your here at this stupid site) then you’ll love it .. just give it a try and buy season one for $24 bucks at best buy. Yes, I am a best buy whore. Well everyone have a great weekend .. I know I will :)
