Apparently the people who brought you Jay-Z and the Beatles mashed-up together have now outdone them self with none other then …. Gnarls Barkley and Notorius B.I.G. . This shit is insane, I have listened to all of these songs in there oringal form but these mash-ups are fuckin amazing. Shows you if you take the vocals out on most songs .. you can mash it with another. Sound advice did a great job. Of course i don’t know how legal this all is so GET IT BEFORE IT GETS SHUT DOWN .. Click on the picture below to go to the site or go to www.gnotorious.com

Two Cd’s you have to check out!

Recently I was looking to purchase two new albums and went searching around for new good artists. My taste in music is not bad at all .. I like amazing beats, complex lyrics with a message and of course some kick ass guitar playing. I found two great new cd’s that anybody should give a listen to. The first artist is Gnarls Barkley consisting of Cee lo who is a rapper/producer (not rapping on this cd though) and everyone knows him because his daugther flew into her party on “Super Sweet 16″ in a helicopter, the other artist of this group is Danger Mouse who remixed the “grey album” which was amazing with Jay-z rapping over the beatles “white album”. Both of these artists who have different styles collabo’d for this album “St. Elsewhere“. If I where to compare them to any artist I would have to say Outkast for there style. They start out the cd with a fast pace in your face track “Go-Go Gadget Gospel” then lead into there first debut single “Crazy” which has such a foot tapping tempo and great lyrics, Cee lo’s voice surprised me he has a very vintage tone and can definitely hold a note. Then go to the track “Gone Daddy Gone” which has possibly the sickest beat on the album, which i think he took from the SNL sketch which is one of my favorites of Fallon and Morgan singing and dancing “christmas time is here”. Finally my favorite track on the album maybe becuase it is so dark is “Necromancer” which of course talks about necrofilia but the way he rides the beat with his story is amazing. Check out this cd, or pick it up for a measly $10 on iTunes which I did. The next cd is Angels & AirwavesWe Don’t Need to Whisper“. The Front man Tom Delonge (Guitar/Vocals) is from a lil known band called Blink-182 just so you know. This album is nothing close to the punky/pop style of Blink-182 but is actually more like a not-so-depressed Taking Back Sunday. Now i wasn’t to happy with his other side project Boxcar Racer, but now he re-tooled his band and is now with new people with a new sound more music less lyrically complex but the beats/guitar riffs melt any face off. There single “The Adventure” which is Track 4 for those of you playing along at home, starts off with great guitar playing and smooth beats for about a minute then leading into the lyrics. Nowadays everyone wants to get to the lyrics so quickly .. A&A took a old school page and open up mostly every song on this cd with a ‘setup’ so to say into the song with great content in the begining following through till the end. My favorite track on the album is “Distraction“, I don’t know if its just me but im feeling more piano playing lately in my music .. it just jumps out more, the lyrics on this track is great too. Again just fire up iTunes and purchase this album for $10. Both These albums come with an Interactive album when you purchase them from iTunes which is actually pretty cool. You can pull up the lyrics to the song and see pictures from the albums artwork. For $10 you can go wrong and it’s great sound quality for your iPod at 128kps. I reccomend both albums for anyone who just likes giving any music a chance. Also, Dirty Dalerz Softball section might be down for a few days due to me re-vamping the site for the new season. The first game is next Tuesday at 9:15 Catiague Field A, so come down and show some support.

Has it seriously come down to this?

Sunday, 12 Mar 2006
I’m a big fan of music .. all sorts of music too .. if you bring your lyrics accross in a creative way over guitar riffs or basement beats chances are i’ll give it a listen and like it. Now what I have noticed (no, this is not recently I have seen this snowball over time) there is a ton of non-creative/quality songs out there now. I know that its hard to get radio play unless your paying off stations millions of dollars that is why its always good to keep your ear to the underground/local streets.
tpain
The example I’m going to use for this post other then every 50cent song made (which is garbage), i’ll use T-Pain’s new song “I’m in love (with a stripper)”. I know your not supposed to take all songs for there litteral sense but this is just plain garbage. Here are the lyrics:
Goddamn Lil Mama U know u thick as hell u know what I’m sayin Matter fact After the club u know what I’m talkin bout Me and my niggas gone be together u know what I’m sayin I ain’t gon worry bout them really though I’m just lookin at u Yea u know U got them big ass hips god damn! Got the body of a goddess Got eyes butter pecan brown I see you girl Droppin Low She Comin Down from the ceiling To tha floo Yea She Know what she doin Yea yea yea She doin that right thang Yea yea yea yea ea I Need to get her over to my crib and do that night thang Cause I’m N Luv wit a stripper She’s every man’s dream She’s God’s gift to Earth Women they love ‘em too That’s what you call a women’s worth See I love all the strippers Because they show me love They know I never pay as free whenever I hit the club But I can’t even lie The girls are here so fly She slidin’ up and down that pole got me mesmerized Mike Jones don’t ever trick But god damn she thick I can’t lie, I must admit I’m in love with a stripper
I’m not saying his content shouldn’t be talked about.. everyones entitled to free speech, but this dude is an idiot. Seriously, How could you fall in love with a stripper? I’m not knocking how she makes her money or anything like that pending her situation .. but can you really trust a stripper? .. let alone let her father you kids? No, she is grinding her sh!t into guys faces and dicks all day .. god knows how many champagne room visits .. and is most likely doing it at night .. when your home sitting there jerking yourself off while some dude is getting lapdances from YOUR vagina. Basically she is coming home with a shitload of ‘ODR’ (OTHER DUDE RESIDUE), do you really wanna bang the back outta that after she gets ‘off the cock clock’. You don’t have to be a stripper to have some nice moves in the sack, why not just go to a bar .. find a girl who can dance pretty damn good .. see where it goes from there. I dunno call me old fashioned .. but I like a girl who doesn’t sell herself sexually for money to bring home the bacon. I’m not hateing on them .. but it’s just not for me. Everyone earns there buck differently. Ok, I’m off topic .. im critizing the stupid song and rap in general. There are to many of these bullshit songs out there doing nothing but making money for people who have the creativity of korky from “life goes on”. There are artists out there like Mos Def, Fort Minor, Linkin Park, Common, Gorillaz, Head Automatica, Slipknot .. just to name a few .. they are creative .. not just pumping out Album after Album of bullshit to just get paid. I know i’ll get critizied for this but .. Eminem in his later years .. started churning out some bad songs .. dunno wether the creativity ran out or pressure from the label .. but yeah we need more orginal artists. I mean holy shit .. there is now a Rapping Hasidic Jew (Matisyahu) who sounds better then any song that fag Shaggy ever put out, because he is creative and actually has power in his lyrics. In conclusion we learned 3 things .. Don’t make songs about wife’ing up a stripper, ‘ODR’ stands for “other dude residue” and finally .. there are creative artists out there not making HUGE BANK over garbage but don’t sacrafice there creative talents to just get ‘paid’ in a world of money hungry bitchs. Thank you .. that is all .. assclowns.
